IJPW World Crown 2016 - Night Eight

[The scene opens with an aerial shot of a studio set. There are two men sitting behind a desk. One is Yo Kurasawa - the legendary commentator, notorious pervert, and current Vice President of Talent Relations and Head Booker for Iron Japan. Next to him is Taka Shimura - another veteran voice in puroresu. A video screen is behind them.]

KURASAWA: Welcome to the English language highlight show for Iron Japan Pro Wrestling! After seven straight nights at Korakuen Hall, we have moved two kilometers south to Budokan for Night Eight and Nine.

SHIMURA: Budokan is the birthplace of Iron Japan Pro Wrestling. This is where we held our Grand Opening.

KURASAWA: There's been a lot of tensions building over the course of World Crown 2016. Some rivalries are starting to form. Things are heating up in both tournament and non-tournament action.

SHIMURA: Tonight's festivities started with a dark match between Astro Honami and IJPW Dojo student Haruhi Sarumara. Kuni Ariwara was the referee. Haruhi took it to Honami in the first five minutes. Honami couldn't handle her brutal shoot style and stiffness, so he tried for quick pin attempts and ranas. Honami almost got a pin at around 11:30 when Haruhi missed a jumping knee, leading to Honami hitting the Astro Crusher (Gori Crusher). Both competitors had near falls in the last moments. Honami had her in a rana pin, but she kicked out at two at 14:59. The match ended in a time limit draw a second later.

Non-Tournament Singles Grudge Match

Kuni Hishida vs. Fabulous Adrian Bagglio

KURASAWA: FAB made “White Tiger” Kuni Hishida a target by attacking her and stealing one of her thongs. Hishida has been open about her frustrations and hoped to score a victory in this match. Cassidy Reischer was the official for this main card opener.

POST-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[FAB scoops up the Singapore cane and cracks it between Hishida's eyes! She drops to one knee. FAB steps back and swings like he's playing for the Tokyo Giants, whacking her upside the head and knocking her into her right side. FAB stands over her, gyrates his hips, then hits her two more times before throwing the cane to the side. He reaches into his right boot, takes out Hishida's thong, and smells it.]

SHIMURA: [In Japanese.] There's something wrong with this man. He's going to be lucky if someone doesn't beat him up backstage.

KURASAWA: [In Japanese.] He might get beat up now! Here comes AKIO!

[AKIO runs out and slides into the ring. FAB rolls out of there. AKIO stands on the middle rope and screams at FAB as he smirks back up the entryway, holding Hishida's thong up in the air. AKIO asks for a microphone from one of the dojo students.]

AKIO: You are scum! You have no honor! You are a thief! A bully! A coward! How about you fight me inste–

[Hishida now has a microphone. FAB is getting a microphone of his own.]

HISHIDA: No... I must beat him. This is my battle. I can do this. I can beat him.

BAGGLIO: That's what I want to hear, my little Kuni. I want to fight you again. I want to destroy you. I want to do away with you because you are in my way. Make no mistake though. This isn't really about you, Kuni... This is about him...
[Points at AKIO.]
He is my end game. It's him that I ultimately want.

AKIO: You want me? Then come down here and fight me! Let's do this now!

BAGGLIO: [Grins.] Oh no... I don't want you in the ring. I want you in my bedroom.
[Bagglio licks his lips. AKIO is disgusted.]
Kuni... You and me at the Tokyo Dome on Monday... AKIO, you and me afterward... Don't bother dressing up on Monday, because it's all coming off!

SHIMURA: [In Japanese.] Oh my... Is this really happening? What a bunch of trash this is, Yo.

KURASAWA: [In Japanese.] It's trashy and that's what Bagglio wants. He wants to bring opponents into his element.

Non-Tournament Tag Team Match

Mallory and Mercy (Mallory Northway and Mercy Monroe) vs. Trans-Pacific Poison (Ginger Mattingly and Nori Imoo)

KURASAWA: Mallory and Mercy. “The Centerfold” and “The Queen.” These two Arizona women have fought and teamed up a lot over the years. They love each other and hate each other. They're both cross-platform stars who are famous in Los Angeles circles. They're facing Ricky Holt and Teiji Shintaro here tomorrow night to determine the number one contenders to the IJPW World Tag Team Championship. Tonight, Mallory and Mercy went up against Trans-Pacific Poison – one of the teams Ricky Holt severely criticized by saying they didn't belong in the tournament to crown the first World Tag Team Champions.

SHIMURA: Even though him and Mattingly have a past and are apparently friends. With friends like that, who needs enemies?

KURASAWA: This was a big opportunity for Trans-Pacific Poison to put themselves in contention. Nanako Fujioka was the official for this contest.

Non-Tournament Singles Grudge Match

Curt Fleischer vs. Sakura Shizuka

KURASAWA: Sakura Shizuka has received a lot of hate recently. Ricky Holt, Jun Hageshii, and Vera Yordanka are three of the people who have attacked Shizuka and her relationship with IJPW World Wrestling Champion Nobuyoki Katsushika. Fleischer hasn't done that, but he did say that he would show her what a real man is like after beating Katsushika in last night's main event. The problem for him is that he lost. Fleischer didn't take too kindly to Shizuka's words to the press by reminding him it's the second time he lost to her man. With Fleischer furious about losing to Katsushika and Shizuka voicing fury in regards to the locker room sentiment against her, there was a lot of anger doing into this match.

SHIMURA: Everyone wondered if Shizuka lost her mind. Who wants to get into the ring with Fleischer? People who are Fleischer's size don't even seek that fight.

KURASAWA: The referee for this contest was Kanzaburo Outakara.

Non-Tournament Eight Person Tag Team Match

Nate Narwin, Ultraviolence Union (Ricky Holt and Teiji Shintaro), and Isamu Shinagami vs. Trista Capra, El Loco, Jona Ziesemer, and Konosuke Usami

KURASAWA: There's a lot of backstories in this match. We'll start with the one concerning the IJPW Television Championship, which will be decided at the Tokyo Dome on Night Ten. Nate Narwin and Trista Capra battled to a 30 minute draw in the first round. They were entered into a match that would determine the first TV Champion, but others have been given the opportunity to put themselves in the match if they impressed. Isamu Shinagami did that by pinning Trista Capra in a tag team match.

SHIMURA: There were other people in this match who fought during the tournament. Konosuke Usami eliminated Ricky Holt from the tournament, and Jona Ziesemer eliminated Ricky Holt. Those were both in the second round. Usami can say he's defeated 2/3's of the Ultraviolence Union before tonight.

KURASAWA: El Loco has history with Nate Narwin and Ricky Holt. His history with Narwin goes back years ago. They were a tag team. Narwin was a bad influence on the most successful Cruiserweight Champion in history. He got him into alcohol and hard drugs. Loco followed Narwin out the door when the controversial Canadian got banned from wrestling in 2008. They competed in outlaw territories until Narwin basically left Loco for dead. Facing drug an alcohol addiction, Loco spent years pulling himself out of the gutter. He started the Loco Combat Club in Brooklyn. Last year, he took in a hot prospect by the name of Ricky Holt, who moved from Minneapolis after signing with an American promotion. Holt eventually attacked Loco in his gym office after closing hours, stole his mask, and set his face on fire. The two have crossed paths in the ring a few times here in IJPW after Loco came out of retirement.

SHIMURA: Look at the violent people in this match. Narwin, Shintaro, Holt, Capra, Shinagami, and we know Loco is capable of going to a dark place too... These are some of the most notorious people in just to wrestling, but in society as a whole.

KURASAWA: Mabuchi Hida was the referee for this match.

POST-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[The fighting continues after the bell. Narwin and Capra brawl on the outside, with Narwin whipping her into the steel rails. Shinagami is choking Usami. Holt and Loco are trading blows, but Holt gets the advantage and stomps on him in the corner. Teiji takes the fork out of his bloody and shitty underwear and stabs Ziesemer in the throat!]

KURASAWA: Holy shit! [In Japanese.] Teiji stabbed Ziesemer! Teiji stabbed Ziesemer in the throat!

SHIMURA: [In Japanese.] It's stuck in his throat! We have a serious situation on our hands!

[Ziesemer tries to roll out of the ring but Teiji grabs him. There's a tug-of-war between the Tokyo Terror and the IJPW Dojo students, all while Ziesemer bleeds all over himself from the cut on his head and the stab wound in his throat. Some of the students get in to pull Teiji away, but he just headbutts and punches them all down. It gives the other students and some trainers the chance to get Ziesemer out of there and quickly carry him out of there.]

POST-MATCH UPDATE

KURASAWA: Ziesemer was rushed to a nearby hospital and is said to be in critical condition. We'll give you more updates throughout the rest of World Crown.

World Crown 2016 Quarter-Final Match

David Manton vs. Freddy Deeds

KURASAWA: Both of these men contributed to the major injury total before going into tonight. David Manton broke Sandra Paisley's neck with a jumping piledriver on Night One. Freddy Deeds broke Nobuo Shimizu's neck on Night Six in the second round. Deeds is under a lot of scrutiny after he dances around the ring while Shimizu was being put on a stretcher.

SHIMURA: Manton is a bouncer and former beer league hockey enforcer. Deeds is a very talented all-rounder who can make it a street fight if it goes that way.

KURASAWA: Masanori Katayanagi was the referee for this match.

POST-MATCH UPDATE

SHIMURA: Manton takes out another! This time it was a man who definitely deserved it! What goes around comes around, Yo.

KURASAWA: Freddy Deeds will be sitting next to Shimizu in the hospital. He also has a broken neck. That's the sixth person who has suffered a major injury during World Crown.

World Crown 2016 Quarter-Final Match

Riddick vs. Ricky Doyle

KURASAWA: Riddick has done it all. The most iconic and hardcore gaijin of all-time took on another gaijin who hopes to leave as big of a mark on puroresu as Riddick. Ricky Doyle is one-half of the IJPW World Tag Team Champions. The Doyle Brothers could be defending those belts against Ricky Holt and Teiji Shintaro in the near future. Tonight, the Belfast native had to fight their fellow Ultraviolence Union member.

SHIMURA: There was a lot of intrigue about this match. Ricky Doyle is known to make a lot of people tap out. Riddick is a tough son of a bitch who has been in some of the bloodiest matches in the history of professional wrestling. After the quarter-final draw last night, many wondered if Ricky Doyle could go down as the man who made Riddick tap out.

KURASAWA: Tashiaki Suzuki was the official for this match.

World Crown 2016 Quarter-Final Match

Suda Tsukasa vs. Jun Hageshii

KURASAWA: Suda Tsukasa's Indian summer has become one of the biggest storylines during World Crown. “The King of Korakuen Hall” defeated HATOYAMA, Fujimaro Odaka, and Albert Dixon to get to this point. Of of them were much younger, and they were either faster in the case of HATOYAMA, or they were bigger and stronger like Odaka and Dixon. The Korakuen Hall magic worked for Tsukasa, but the tournament shifted to Budokan on Night Eight, where he took on the very angry Jun Hageshii.

SHIMURA: Hageshii defeated Nori Imoo, Lolly Lea, and El Loco to get to this point. With the victory over the legendary El Loco being a feather in his cap, the Osaka native said he was determined to add another feather by beating Tsukasa.

KURASAWA: Let's not forget that Hageshii is the main who took out a machete after his first round win against Imoo. This man doesn't just want to take over the world. He wants to burn it down. He has no respect for the legends of this business.

KURASAWA: Did the Korakuen Hall magic follow Tsukasa to Budokan? The official for this match was Nene Hishikawa.

*** MAIN EVENT ***

World Crown 2016 Quarter-Final Match

John Scroggs vs. Nobuyoki Katsushika

KURASAWA: The IJPW World Wrestling Champion, Nobuyoki Katsushika, defeated Curt Fleischer last night in their rematch from the Grand Opening. His quarter-final opponent was another big and nasty man by the name of John Scroggs. The Baltimore man has had some bruising classic with Stan Ward, Big Ugly, and Jona Ziesemer on his way to the quarter-finals.

SHIMURA: Scroggs might not be as strong as Fleischer, but he's incredibly fast. His speed and agility is freakish for a man his size. This was something new for the World Champion, whose matches in the tournament had been no longer than ten minutes up to tonight.

KURASAWA: Toyoko Toshikura was the referee for this main event between two of the biggest, strongest, and hard-hitting wrestlers in the world.

WRAP-UP

KURASAWA: Shocking scenes at Budokan!

SHIMURA: A lot of people lost money. Katsushika was the favorite to win the whole tournament. Now Ronnie Doyle might have to wait longer to get his shot at the World title. That's who Katsushika was going to pick after Ronnie knocked him out in the World Tag Team title tournament.

KURASAWA: How did you do for tournament predictions?

SHIMURA: I had Deeds over Manton, Ricky Doyle over Riddick, Hageshii over Tsukasa, and Katsushika over John Scroggs. I was 0-4!

KURASAWA: You've been so good too.

SHIMURA: I'm now 39-19-1 in overall tournament predictions.

KURASAWA: Taka and I conducted the semi-final draw in the ring after the main event. Here is what Night Nine looks like tomorrow, from first match to last:

SUNDAY – NIGHT NINE
Nippon Budokan
Tokyo, Japan

Danjuro Komatsuzaki vs. Miyazaki Bokkai

Singles Match
Paul Cannon vs. Big Ugly

Eight Person Tag Team Match
Nate Narwin, Isamu Shinagami, Killer Komukai, and Jun Hageshii vs. Trista Capra, El Loco, KANNON, and Konosuke Usami

Six Person Tag Team Match
Curt Fleischer and Imperial (AKIO and Kuni Hishida) vs. Noble Power (Nobuyoki Katsushika and Sakura Shizuka) and Fabulous Adrian Bagglio

#1 Contenders For IJPW World Tag Team Championship
Ultraviolence Union (Ricky Holt and Teiji Shintaro) vs. Mallory and Mercy (Mallory Northway and Mercy Monroe)

Tournament Matches

David Manton vs. Riddick
Suda Tsukasa vs. John Scroggs

KURASAWA: What are your semi-final predictions, Taka?

SHIMURA: Riddick over Manton and Scroggs over Tsukasa. Riddick is more experienced and he'll turn it up from here. I think Riddick will really kick it into gear. He's struggled for a year and now the World Crown belt and a shot at the World title is so close. Scroggs will beat Tsukasa because, even though we're all enjoying Tsukasa's Indian summer, the reality is that a man like Scroggs will overwhelm him. He's not just bigger and stronger, but faster too. He hits harder. Tsukasa will really need to dig deep if he wants to be in the final.

KURASAWA: That does it for us tonight. Join us again tomorrow. We'll be here again at Nippon Budokan Hall for World Crown – Night Nine. For Taka Shimura, I'm Yo Kurasawa. Good night from Tokyo!

[FADE TO BLACK.]
