IJPW World Crown 2016 - Night Three

[The scene opens with an aerial shot of a studio set. There are two men sitting behind a desk. One is Yo Kurasawa - the legendary commentator, notorious pervert, and current Vice President of Talent Relations and Head Booker for Iron Japan. Next to him is Taka Shimura - another veteran voice in puroresu. A video screen is behind them.]

KURASAWA: Welcome to the English language highlight show for Iron Japan Pro Wrestling! Sitting next to me is Taka Shimura. I'm Yo Kurasawa. Tonight was Night Three of World Crown 2016 and our third straight night at Korakuen Hall. We're now a quarter of the way through the first round! There were some big implications from tonight's show that will affect Night Ten at the Tokyo Dome.

SHIMURA: The evening started with a dark match between Manchester, England's Markie Bristow and IJPW Dojo student Tomeo Komiya. Kuni Ariwara was the referee. Bristow had a bet with IJPW Dojo Master Danjuro Komatsuzaki to see who can go further in the World Crown tournament. Danjuro won last night, but Bristow lost later on and was attacked by Danjuro in the ring. In this match against one of Danjuro's students, Bristow almost got a pin after four minutes with a Fire Star Splash. A second Fire Star Splash won the match at 10:53. After the match, Bristow got on the microphone and said he wants Danjuro at the Tokyo Dome if he's not in the World Crown Final.

KURASAWA: Regardless of whether he gets his match with Danjuro at the Tokyo Dome, there's a lot of national pride on the line for both men, and it will be interesting to see the heat build between them over the course of World Crown.

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

J Murda vs. Kayoko Komon

KURASAWA: The main card opener between J Murda and Kayoko Komon saw two young competitors – one who has already carved out a bit of a reputation back in America, with that being J Murda. Komon is still trying to find her way in Japan, even after forming an unlikely friendship with Tae Muraguchi. J Murda is from Detroit and actually grew up with the Rotten Saints – Big Ugly and Freddy Deeds. Murda didn't want to talk about their past before tonight, saying it was complicated.

SHIMURA: He made it sound like a Facebook relationship status.

KURASAWA: Toyoko Toshikura was the official for this first round contest.

POST-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[Murda's spin kick connects and knocks Komon back down. He draws the fork from his pocket, mounts and stabs the bloodied woman in the head repeatedly. Dojo students in black track suits jump in and muscle him into a corner. A few of them check on Komon, who rolls over and spills blood on the canvas. Murda turns towards the cameraman on the ring apron.]

J MURDA: Now y'all mutha fuckas know I ain't one to fuck with! It ain't personal! This shit's business! I'm just here to kill 'em, get paid, and get some fuckin' gold! That's what it's all about! Watch yo ass, Iron Japan! I'm here now! Y'all bitches gon' get cut!

[Murda spits in the camera lense and steps out of the ring.]

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

Satomi Asano vs. KANNON

KURASAWA: Satomi Asano made her IJPW debut in a losing effort against Nicki Scherer at Puroresu Power. Tonight wasn't any easier as she took on “The King of the Dark World” and the Dark World Champion – KANNON.

SHIMURA: KANNON said World Crown will be sunken into an abyss. Asano had nothing to say going in. She looked defiant against a more established star on her way to the ring, but nothing can prepare a young up-and-comer against the foreboding aura of KANNON.

KURASAWA: The official for this match was Tashiaki Suzuki.

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

Albert Dixon vs. Lainey Boyle

KURASAWA: “The Boston Bitch” Lainey Boyle has made quite an impression in Iron Japan so far. She might not be the biggest competitor, but she packs a powerful punch and fights with incredible aggression. Her opponent tonight was much larger. Albert Dixon is a former Arkansas police officer and college football offensive lineman.

SHIMURA: He's also very bigoted. Dixon's comments on Twitter get him in a lot of trouble. This is his first time in Japan. Of course, nuclear bomb jokes have been the theme on his Twitter page this week. You could feel hatred for him in Korakuen Hall.

KURASAWA: The crowd was behind Boyle and she was ready to go. The referee was Jimmy Erikson.

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

Teiji Shintaro vs. Ryuichi Hojo

KURASAWA: Ryuichi Hojo is still suffering from embarrassment after Muffin Vanderburg made him eat his misogynistic comments at Puroreu Power. He had more shoved down his throat as he took on Teiji “The Terror” Shintaro.

SHIMURA: I've never seen anybody like Teiji. So many come into this business claiming to be crazy and hardcore. Teiji is what his manager, Eric O'Flaherty, calls “the living embodiment of the deathmatch.” Everything about him makes for such a surreal experience. You can feel the mood change in the entire building when he comes out. Just watch his entrance...

PRE-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[Hojo is already awaiting his opponent in the ring. “Violence Now” by GG Allin and Antiseen pumps out of the sound system. GG Allin's monumental anger drowns the audience.]

WELCOME TO MY WORLD, A BATTLEFIELD BLITZ
IT'S AS REAL AS IT SEEMS, AS BLOODY AS IT GETS

HUT! TWO, THREE, FOUR!
HUT! TWO, THREE, FOUR!
HUT! TWO, THREE, FOUR!
HUT! TWO, THREE FOUR!

WE NEED MORE GUNS TO FIGHT OUR WAR
AND PEOPLE TO DEFEND OUR BATTLE SCORE

VIOLENCE NOW, FIGHT FIRE WITH FIRE
AN EYE FOR AN EYE, A BLOODBATH HIGH
KILL OR BE KILLED, MACHINE GUN RICOCHET
ASSISSINATE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES
ASSISSINATE THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

[People in the crowd begin to scream and scatter.]

DON'T LISTEN TO THE BRAINWASHIG OF OUR TIMES
COUNTER ATTACK WITH A GUN AND A KNIFE

[Teiji Shintaro enters through the crowd. Fresh, wet feces are smeared all over his chest and running down his face. He wears nothing but old tighty whities that are stained with blood and shit. The tines of his trusty fork stick out above the elastic of his underwear.]

KURASAWA: [In Japanese.] We have a dangerous situation developing before our very eyes! That maniac is coming through the crowd!

[Teiji spews feces at a few innocent fans and throws chairs at people who just wanted to catch a wrestling show. The fans clear a pathway to the guard rail, where Teiji climbs over and sees three dojo students standing cautiously at ringside. All he has to do is walk toward them with a murderous look in his eyes and they run away.]

SHIMURA: [In Japanese.] Run away. This man will bring an early end to your career. Maybe even your life.

[Teiji rolls into the ring and backs into a corner. He waits with an unbridled anger that is waiting to be unleashed.]

POST-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[Teiji kicks Hojo in the head a few times. The dojo students are hesitant to get in. Mabuchi Hida got out of there, hoping the dojo students would deal with him.]

SHIMURA: [In Japanese.] We might need to call the co– uh oh! He's stripping! The underwear is off!

[Teiji's below-average junk hangs freely. He kicks Hojo onto his back and shoves the underwear down his throat. Hojo is kicking and struggling under Teiji, but there appears to be no escape. Teiji pinches Hojo's nostrils shut.]

KURASAWA: [In Japanese.] Some might say that this is karma for what Hojo has said and done since the Grand Opening, but I know what Teiji is like! He's going to kill that man if nobody gets in there!

[The dojo students finally muster up the courage to get in the ring and pull Teiji off Hojo, even if it means touching him and getting feces on their sweet IJPW Dojo Student black track outfits.]

World Crown 2016 First Round Match
Takamuku Arai vs. Ronnie Doyle

KURASAWA: Ronnie Doyle shocked the world at Puroresu Power – Night Two when he knocked out IJW World Wrestling Champion Nobuyoki Katsushika in the IJPW World Tag Team Championship Tournament. After winning the World Tag Team titles with his brother, Ricky, the Belfast brawler has received a lot of attention. Katsushika has said that he'll pick Ronnie as the challenger to his World title if he wins World Crown. So even if Ronnie doesn't punch his way to the World Crown, he's feeling confident knowing that the World Champ and favorite to win World Crown wants to challenge him. That attention increased when he drew Takamuku Arai in the first round. Arai is a sumo wrestler who is transitioning into pro wrestling. He was too flashy for sumo with his entourage of sexy women.

SHIMURA: I was skeptical. Especially in the no-rules environment of Iron Japan. Especially against a street fighter with fists like bombs. Arai shocked a lot of people with his ability to transition to the wrestling ring. I thought his typical trash talk and loud personality was going to get him a beating. Ronnie came out like this was going to be easy and he was just going to treat Arai like a big punching bag. I thought he was going to as well.

KURASAWA: It was the Belfast Brawler vs. The Ryƍgoku Kokugikan Playboy! The official for this match was Nene Hishikawa.

World Crown 2016 First Round Match
El Loco vs. Fabulous Adrian Bagglio

KURASAWA: El Loco is one of the true legends in professional wrestling. The Mexican star is the most influential junior heavyweight in the history of the business, having won the Cruiserweight Championship sixteen times over his illustrious career. But his return to professional wrestling hasn't been so hot since the Grand Opening in March. He lost to Miyazaki Bokkai, tapped to Jun Hageshii in an Eight Person Tag Team Match, and hasn't gained much ground in his revenge on Ricky Holt. Tonight, Loco took on the highly controversial Fabulous Adrian Bagglio.

SHIMURA: What FAB does is deplorable, but it's worked so far in the early days of his career. He's already proven to be one of the most formidable masters of the mind games.

KURASAWA: But were those mind games enough to take down the greatest Cruiserweight Champion of all-time? The referee for this match was Kanzaburo Outakara.

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

Ginger Mattingly vs. Vera Yordanka

KURASAWA: This next match featured two of the best joshi puroresu stars. Ginger Mattingly is a blunt and cunning young woman from St. Paul, Minnesota. She didn't have the best Puroresu Power experience, and she hoped to turn her fortunes around here in Iron Japan. Her opponent, Vera Yordanka, is no stranger to Japan. The Bulgarian punk rocker moved here in her late teens to become a wrestler. She speaks fluent Japanese.

SHIMURA: The crowd liked both women. Korakuen hall was 50/50 in support of these two charismatic gaijins.

KURASAWA: The referee was Cassidy Reischer.

*** MAIN EVENT ***

World Crown 2016 First Round Match

Nate Narwin vs. Trista Capra

KURASAWA: Nate Narwin is one of the most notorious names in professional wrestling. Before tonight, the Toronto native hadn't been in a sanctioned wrestling match since 2008 after he got banned from the sport. Narwin kidnapped the adult daughter of another wrestler, who wasn't even feuding with him, and then opened a beer bottle with her nether regions in the middle of the ring at Madison Square Garden. Now this violent and sadistic alcoholic graces the ring of Iron Japan Pro Wrestling.

SHIMURA: Narwin's shocking antics did himself a disservice in many ways. Not just because it got him banned, but Narwin was one of the best brawler/technical wrestling hybrids on the planet. He was coming off a United States Championship reign and threatening to finally reach the World Heavyweight title scene after years of alcoholism, legal battles, and a devastating car crash nearly ended him.

KURASAWA: Such an illustrious career before the infamous night in Madison Square Garden. Now he's getting old and he's said that this is his last chance at being a World Champion. His opponent tonight was older than him. Trista Capra, the wicked woman from Pittsburgh, brought deathmatch wrestling to the joshi scene in the '90s. Then she disappeared all through the noughties before making a sudden and dramatic return to wrestling in 2010.

SHIMURA: She's 54-years-old, but this woman is tough as nails and still very athletic. She's past her prime, but she's in IJPW for a reason, as we saw tonight. But a note on Narwin... Few notes, actually... His mind is gone. His moves and motives in the ring are unpredictable. He might be a veteran, but he's such a scatter brain these days that we have no idea what he might do. He doesn't even appear to know what he might do. All the alcohol and drugs messed with his brain.

KURASAWA: We never thought we would see these two in the same ring. Two of the most hardcore wrestlers of all time. The special moment was not lost on the 2,005 knowledgeable fans at Korakuen Hall. The official for this dream match was Masanori Katayanagi

POST-MATCH HIGHLIGHTS

[Capra is on the top rope... Narwin gets up with the barbwire baseball bat in hand. Capra sees it and jumps down. Narwin, blinded by blood, turns around and swings wildly. Capra ducks and punches him in the groin. Capra takes the bat away from him and gets behind him as he falls to his knees. She presses the back into his forehead, drags the barbwire across and rips his skin open even more. The dojo students make an effort to slide into the ring, but Capra chases them away by swinging the bat at them. Narwin rolls out of the ring and looks underneath it. Capra turns her attention back to him and steps through the ropes. Narwin pulls a fluorescent light tube from under the ring and breaks it over her head before she can get halfway through the ropes. He grabs her and pulls her down onto the ring apron, puts his left hand around her throat, then works her over with punches to the face. The four dojo students come around from both sides and grab Narwin while four others in the ring pull Capra back in.]

NARWIN: Get your fucking hands off me! Don't fucking touch me or else I'm gonna piss in your damn face!

WRAP-UP

KURASAWA: That match has greatly affected World Crown. In terms of the tournament, there's now an opportunity for someone to get into the third round with a bye if we have an uneven number in the second round draw. When it comes to Narwin, Capra, and the Tokyo Dome on Night Ten, these two fearsome competitors will take part in a match that will crown the first ever IJPW Television Championship. The TV title comes with a 45 minute time limit. But there's a lot of time between now and Night Ten. Other wrestlers can get in on this match if they do anything big to impress. With all of this said, Taka, how did you do on tonight's predictions?

SHIMURA: I had J Murda over Komon, KANNON over Asano, Dixon over Boyle, Shintaro over Hojo, Ronnie Doyle over Arai, Loco over Bagglio, Yordanka over Mattingly, and Capra over Narwin. I went 6-1-1 tonight. That puts my overall tournament predictions at 17-6-1.

KURASAWA: Listen to Taka Shimura if you're a gambling man, ladies and gentlemen. Now we have our last night of the first round tomorrow night. What are your predictions?

SHIMURA: Miss Lizy over Muraguchi. Morio Kamisaka, who will be fighting to honor his injured tag team partner, will beat Raul El Aguila. Hageshii over Imoo. Usami over Shizuka. Ziesemer over Komukai. Scroggs over Ward. Fleischer over Shinagama. For the main event, I'm picking Katsushika over “White Tiger” Kuni Hishida.

KURASAWA: You seem to be picking the favorites in most of these.

SHIMURA: I think John Scroggs will go all the way to the final, but he has a tough opponent in Stan Ward tomorrow night. That is going to be a bar fight. Fleischer and Shinagama will be tragic. There's a lot of mystic about an old monster fighting this huge and ruthless gaijin, but reality will sink in very quickly and Fleischer will destroy him. And while the Katsushika/Hishida match has it's storylines and charms, I just don't see how she's going to beat the giant.

KURASAWA: That does it for us tonight. We'll be back here at Korakuen Hall tomorrow night for the last of the first round. Then we will conduct the second round draw in the ring after the main event. For Taka Shimura, I'm Yo Kurasawa. See you tomorrow night for Night Four!

[FADE TO BLACK.]
