The four-person Iron Road teams were drawn at the Yamashi Building, Iron Japan Pro Wrestling's headquarters, in Tokyo earlier today. The first round matches will take place at Nippon Budokan on January 21, with the next round of matches taking place the following night.
Iron Road is a short tournament that starts with 4 vs. 4 elimination matches in the first round. However, eliminations carry over into the next round for advancing sides. At the end of the road, the remaining members on the last team will fight each other for a shot at the IJPW World Wrestling Championship in the Battle Bash main event at the Tokyo Dome.
The current IJPW World Wrestling Champion is John Scroggs. He will choose his own challenger if he wins Iron Road.
The first night at Budokan is as follows...

Iron Road Qualifying Match
Morio Kamisaka vs.
Vera Vicious
Kamisaka dedicated
this match to his tag partner, Michinori Osaragi, who got his neck
broken in May during the World Crown Tournament. He faced a difficult
challenge by taking on IJPW Television Champion and Naraku no Soko
member Vera Vicious.
Iron Road Qualifying Match
Ashley
Thorne vs. Muffin Vanderburg
Thorne
represented Naraku no Soko as she took on gaijin fan favorite Muffin
Vanderburg.
Tag
Team Match
Naraku
no Soko (KANNON and Akuma Usami) vs. Isamu Shinagami and Trista Capra
Naraku
no Soko faced another battle in Yokohama as KANNON and Usami took on
Isamu Shinagami and “The Original Deathmatch Queen” Trista Capra
– two individuals who have declared war on the dark faction, but
have yet to form anything beyond an informal alliance.
Six-Person
Tag Team Match
Doyle
Brothers (Ricky Doyle and Ronnie Doyle) and Suda Tsukasa vs. Dave
Manton, Stan Ward, and Fabulous Adrian Bagglio
At
Iron Road: Sapporo, the Doyle Brothers earned a shot at the IJPW
World Tag Team Championship after beating Manton and Ward, while
Tsukasa continued his Indian summer by defeating FAB for a shot at
the IJPW Television Championship. While Manton, Ward, and FAB came up
short in their number one contender matches in Sapporo, they had a
chance to get a little bit of revenge in Yokohama.
Iron Road Qualifying Match
Nobuyoki
Katsushika vs. J
Murda
Katsushika
defeated J Murda in the second round of the World Crown Tournament in
May. Murda had a chance for revenge, but it was a tall task as he
took on the beloved giant who's itching to get back on top in Iron
Japan Pro Wrestling. Katsushika is one-half of the World Tag Team
Champions and Team Crown holders, but everyone knows he feels
incomplete without the IJPW World Wrestling Championship. Katsushika
hasn't been shy about his intentions to be known as the first Ace of
IJPW.
Iron Road Qualifying Match
Sakura
Shizuka vs. Curt Fleischer
Fleischer
defeated Shizuka at World Crown – Night Seven in a non-tournament
match. Shizuka is the girlfriend and tag team partner of Nobuyoki
Katsushika, and Fleischer has run into him a few times this past year
in some memorable bouts. The rivalry between Fleischer and the Noble
Power couple continued in Yokohama.
Six-Person
Tag Team Match
Ultraviolence
Union (Ricky Holt, Teiji Shintaro and Jun Hageshii) vs. Jona
Ziesemer, El Loco, and Jackie Walters
Ricky
Holt continued his year-long feud with former mentor and legendary
luchadore El Loco, who has had a 2016 to forget. Jona Ziesemer has
had a year to forget too. After one victory over Shintaro in the
World Crown Tournament, Jona has endured a never-ending nightmare
that has seen him get stabbed in the throat with a fork and lose to
Shintaro. Hageshii looked to finally get payback after famously
getting knocked out quickly by Jackie Walters in Iron Road qualifying
in Fukuoka. Hageshii has been seen as the weak link in the
Ultraviolence Union because he's tapped out numerous times to cost
his team the match.
*** MAIN EVENT ***
IJPW
World Wrestling Championship
Riddick
vs. (c) John Scroggs
Riddick
is the current IJPW World Crown holder. He defeated John Scroggs in
the tournament final at the Tokyo Dome in May, and he used that
reasoning when challenging Scroggs to a title match at the Yokohama
Arena. Riddick has kept up a hectic schedule while competing in both
IJPW and Death Trip Wrestling, and fans saw it catch up to him when
John Scroggs knocked him out with a chokeslam in Sapporo during an
eight-person tag team match.

Kon, a student at
the IJPW Dojo, came in needing a big upset against a popular fan

Takamuku

Takamuku Arai has
continued to make the transition from sumo wrestling to professional
wrestling with impressive results, but the Sumo Hall Playboy drew the

at the IJPW Dojo.

Suda

Katsushika and Sakura Shizuka – Noble Power.
Eight-Person
Tag Team Match
Noble
Power (Nobuyoki Katsushika and Sakura Shizuka), Muffin Vanderburg,
and Morio Kamisaka vs. Curt Fleischer, Naraku no Soko (Ashley Thorne
and Vera Vicious), and J Murda
A
preview for the Iron Road qualifiers in Yokohama on December 23,
where we will see: Death Crown holder Curt Fleischer vs. World Tag
Team Champion and Team Crown holder Sakura Shizua, World Tag Team
Champion and Team Crown holder Nobuyoki Katsushika vs. J Murda,
Ashley Thorne vs. Muffin Vanderburg, and IJPW Television Champion
Vera Vicious vs. Morio Kamisaka. Katsushika has had a few memorable
battles with Fleischer this past year, with Fleischer winning the
last one in defense of the World Wrestling Championship. Noble Power
and Thorne/Vicious have fought in the Team Crown Final and in a
Landmine Deathmatch for the World Tag Team titles, with Noble Power
winning both times. Vicious and Shizuka have been locked in a feud,
where Vicious recently successfully defended her TV title against her
rival.
*** MAIN EVENT ***
Eight-Person Tag Team
Match
Ultraviolence Union
(Riddick, Ricky Holt, Teiji Shintaro, and Jun Hageshii) vs. John
Scroggs, Nate Narwin, Jona Ziesemer, and El Loco
John Scroggs will defend the IJPW World
Wrestling Championship against World Crown holder Riddick at Yokohama
Arena on December 23. Riddick defeated Scroggs in the World Crown
Final at the Tokyo Dome in May. Ricky Holt has been in a heated
rivalry with legendary junior heavyweight El Loco, who once trained
Holt. Loco lost their only singles encounter so far. Teiji Shintaro's
stabbing on Jona Ziesemer in the throat still haunts the German man,
who beat Teiji in the World Crown Tournament, but has lost to him in
other encounters. Nate Narwin lost to Riddick in a brutal Death Crown
Tournament match and, while him and Riddick have a lot of respect for
one another, Narwin looked to get revenge. Narwin and Scroggs are
known to hang out together backstage, but their friendship doesn't go
further than that.
[The show starts with an
overhead shot of the arena. We see fans are still filing in and
getting to their seats. The scene cuts to legendary commentator Yo
Kurasawa and Eric O'Flaherty at ringside.]
KURASAWA:
Welcome to live English
language commentary for IJPW Iron Road: Sendai! We're at the Sendai
Sun Plaza! I'm Yo Kurasawa. Joining me at ringside is Pro Wrestling's
Rogue Manager and founder of the Ultraviolence Union, Eric
O'Flaherty. Tonight's main event will see the IJPW World Wrestling
Championship on the line when Curt Fleischer defends against John
Scroggs! Fleischer defeated Scroggs in the Death Crown Tournament and
leaped over him for World title contention. This has upset Scroggs,
who is a World Crown runner-up. He defeated the World Champion at the
time in that tournament, then lost in a Triple Threat Match for the
World title because Ronnie Doyle knocked out Nobuyoki Katsushika!
Scroggs attacked Fleischer after he defended the title against
Katsushika in Osaka, and now he finally gets his one-on-one match for
the World title!
O'FLAHERTY:
I'm gonna go with Fleischer.
Both of them are big and mean, but Fleischer is bigger and meaner.
Both of them cut their teeth in barrooms, but Fleischer isn't just a
barroom brawler. He can make people submit! He has more to his game.
I'm calling it. Fleischer will successfully defend the strap!
KURASAWA:
He has to if he wants to go to
Budokan with the belt. He's booked in a multi-person tag team match
and an Iron Road qualifier in the next two shows. If he loses
tonight, he won't be able to get a rematch for the belt until March
at the earliest! Also, the IJPW Television Championship will be
defended in a big grudge match! Vera Vicious accepted the challenge
from Sakura Shizuka, who's one-half of the IJPW World Tag Team
Champions and Team Crown holders. Shizuka has been on the winning
side in the Team Crown Final. Then, as World Tag Team Champions,
Noble Power actually picked Vera Vicious and Ashley Thorne to defend
against at Death Crown. There's been bad blood before Vera was
brainwashed by Naraku no Soko. She was part of the many who accused
Shizuka of sleeping with Katsushika just to get to the top and have
herself a formidable partner!
The other members of Naraku no Soko will take on two of your Union
guys, who are teaming with Trista Capra!
O'FLAHERTY:
Riddick and Teiji “The
Terror” Shintaro will team with “The Original Deathmatch Queen”
Trista Capra. I'm more than okay with this.
KURASAWA:
Capra's in a battle with Naraku
no Soko after they turned Ashley Thorne against her. We'll see how
well she does when she teams with two members of the Ultraviolence
Union tonight. Ricky Holt will represent the Ultraviolence Union when
he takes on Sun Demon in Iron Road qualifying action. Also in the
qualifiers, we will see Nori Imoo vs. Lorie Koenig, and Markie
Bristow vs. Stan Ward. But the highest profile qualifier is El Loco
vs. “The Queen” Mercy Monroe. El Loco is a 17-time SWA
Cruiserweight Champion, but his 2016 has been a year to forget. He
can turn it all around and give himself new life by beating Monroe.
With all that said, let's get tonight's action underway!

HIGHLIGHTS
[Scroggs
is celebrating in the ring with the IJPW World Wrestling Championship
in the air. We then hear a mixed reaction when Riddick comes out with
a microphone in hand and the IJPW World Crown belt over his shoulder.
He climbs into the ring and steps right up to Scroggs, who is handed
a microphone.]
RIDDICK:
Congratulations on winning the
World title. I know you're a worthy champion because you beat the
hell out of me in the World Crown Final, but as you probably
remember...
[Riddick
raises the World Crown belt in the air.]
I
won, and I got to carry this fucking thing around for at least a
year. I lost to Cat Shit a month later in my World title opportunity,
but ya know what? I fucking pinned him not too long ago. I would've
left Nagoya as a World Tag Team Champion if my partner didn't shit
out on me again... That mother fucker! But ya know what? I've been on
it in IJPW recently, and I'm glad you won the World title, John...
because I fucking beat you once. I can beat you again. As far as I'm
concerned, I deserve a shot at the World title! December 23rd,
John... You and me at the Yokohama Arena! I know how much it pisses
you off that you couldn't beat me in the World Crown Final!
SCROGGS:
Ya know... I could say no and ask ya what the fuck you think you did
to get a World title shot. I couldn't give a fuck about what you did
in a tag team match. But you're right. It pisses me off that I
couldn't beat you in the World Crown Final. It pisses me off that I
couldn't beat you in a Tokyo Dome main event. You wanna know what
else pisses me off? They call you the most revered gaijin. That's all
I hear about. They put your name above mine without question.
RIDDICK:
And for good reason. I walked
through hell to get that recognition.
SCROGGS:
So have I! So ya know what?
December 23rd at the Yokohama Arena? You're on! I'll beat my fucking
win back and I'll start my reign of terror in IJPW, because this
fucking belt isn't going anywhere!
[The show starts with an
overhead shot of the arena. We see fans are still filing in and
getting to their seats. The scene cuts to legendary commentator Yo
Kurasawa and Eric O'Flaherty at ringside.]
KURASAWA:
Welcome to live English
language commentary for IJPW Iron Road: Nagoya! I'm Yo Kurasawa.
Joining me is Pro Wrestling's Rogue Manager and founder of the
Ultravioelence Union, Eric O'Flaherty. We're live from the Aichi Prefectural Gymnasium, where we will see the IJPW World Tag Team Championship
defended in the main event. Riddick pinned Nobuyoki Katsushika in a
multi-person tag team match a few weeks ago in Hiroshima. Him and Jun
Hageshii attacked Katsushika after he failed to beat Curt Fleischer
for the World title in Osaka. Noble Power, the Team Crown holders,
will defend the World Tag Team titles against the Ultraviolence Union
members in tonight's main event!
O'FLAHERTY:
The belts are coming back to
the Union!
KURASAWA:
Also, the IJPW Television
Championship is on the line when Vera Vicious defends against Isamu
Shinagami in a rematch. Shinagami win the TV title so he could draw
Naraku no Soko into a war, but now they have the belt. Can Shinagami
win the belt back, or will Vera cast him aside and push Naraku no
Soko onward?
Of
course, we have Iron Road qualifying action. Two IJPW Dojo students
will get big opportunities tonight. Atsumori Nakadai takes on joshi
star Satomi Asano, while Masuko Matashichi takes on “The
Centerfold” Mallory Northway. We'll see two hardcore icons fight
when “The Original Deathmatch Queen” Trista Capra takes on “The
Hardcore Lumberjack” Paul Cannon, and Akuma Usami will fly the
Naraku no Soko flag against a former World Champion and World Tag
Team Champion – the Belfast brawler, Ronnie Doyle.
In
eight-person action, we will see: Nate
Narwin, Teiji Shintaro, KANNON, and Fabulous Adrian Bagglio vs. Raul
La Escopeta, Suda Tsukasa, Ricky Doyle, and Miyazaki Bokkai. Narwin
defeated Escopeta to qualify for the Iron Road matches. Teiji
Shintaro and Suda Tsukasa have run into each other after Tsukasa
advanced over Teiji The Terror. Bokkai isn't any friend to KANNON or
the rest of Naraku no Soko, and Ricky Doyle is looking for a fight
tonight.
The
other eight-person match will preview the Iron Road matches on the
28th in Sendai. Mercy Monroe, Ricky Holt, Stan Ward, and Lorie Koenig
vs. El Loco, Markie Bristow, Sun Demon, and Nori Imoo. Holt and Loco
continue their feud after Holt got a win over him at Violent Conduct!
O'FLAHERTY:
That pesky
fucker El Loco just won't go away.

[The power couple of Katsushika and Shizuka are celebrating in the ring with their World Tag Team title belts and Team Crown belts. At ringside, Jun is leaning up against the apron when Riddick bounces his head off it! Riddick throws him into the guardrail and lays into him with some boots to the head before choking him! The dojo students swarm Riddick and pull him away.]
KURASAWA: Riddick attacking Jun once again after a match!
O'FLAHERTY: Jun's gotta quit fucking letting us down! I'm getting sick of defending him to Riddick!
[Back in the ring, Sakura Shizuka has a microphone.]
SHIZUKA: [In Japanese.] Thank for coming out tonight and cheering for us! Nobu and I greatly appreciate it! We love defending the World Tag Team titles. We plan on keeping these belts for a long time and holding them along with the Team Crown belts. But I have my sights set on singles gold... I saw my enemy, Vera Vicious, defending the Television title in a rematch tonight. Some might be afraid to take on a member of Naraku no Soko, but not me! I have fought you before, Vera! I have been on the winning side, and now I want to fight you again! You and me for the Television title in Sendai! Let's do it!
ENDING
KURASAWA:
That does
it for us here in Nagoya. Join us on November 28th at the Sendai
Gymnasium, where Curt Fleischer will defend the IJPW World Wrestling
Championship against John Scroggs! In Iron Road qualifiers; we will
see Mercy Monroe vs. El Loco, Ricky Holt vs. Sun Demon, Markie
Bristow vs. Stan Ward, and Nori Imoo vs. Lorie Koenig. Also, we'll
see a huge rivalry match! Sakura Shizuka has
challenged Vera Vicious to a match for the IJPW Television
Championship, and we just got word that Vera has accepted! That's going to be a big show in
Sendai. For Eric O'Flaherty, I'm Yo Kurasawa. Good night from Nagoya!
[The show starts with an
overhead shot of the arena. We see fans are still filing in and
getting to their seats. The scene cuts to legendary commentator Yo
Kurasawa and Eric O'Flaherty at ringside.]
KURASAWA:
Welcome to live English
language commentary for IJPW Iron Road: Osaka! I'm Yo Kurasawa.
Joining me is Pro Wrestling's Rogue Manager and founder of the
Ultraviolence Union, Eric O'Flaherty. We're coming to you from the
Edion Arena, we we will see both the IJPW World Wrestling
Championship and Television Championship defended in what promises to
be two heated encounters!
O'FLAHERTY:
We were in Fukuyama last night
for the Fire Pro “Trick or Beat” Halloween collaboration. Those
champions were on opposite sides of the ring in the six-person main
event, where Curt Fleischer got a win for his side by making Trista
Capra tap out. He wants to finally score a win against the native
hero, Nobuyoki Katsushika, who already carries the World Tag Team
title and Team Crown belts. I think Fleischer does it tonight. The
raging St. Paul man is going to slay the gentle giant of Japan!
KURASAWA:
That match also saw the war
between TV Champion Isamu Shinagami and Naraku no Soko continue.
Shinagami defends his title tonight against Vera Vicious, who hopes
to be the first member of Naraku no Soko to bring in some
championship gold! Also on the card; the Ultraviolence Union takes on
John
Scroggs, Suda Tsukasa, Sakura Shizuka, and Jackie Walters! Scroggs
qualified for the Iron Road matches back in Hiroshima, and now he
gets a chance to get his hands on Riddick tonight. Riddick beat him
in the World Crown Final. Teiji “The Terror” Shintaro wants to
get his hands on Suda Tsukasa, who beat him in Iron Road qualifying.
Shizuka, one-half of the World Tag Team Champions, has beef with Holt
and Shintaro – who failed to win back the straps against Noble
Power in Matsuyama. Meanwhile, Jun Hageshii wants to get payback on
Jackie Walters – who humiliatingly knocked him out in a quick match
to qualify for the Iron Road matches!
O'FLAHERTY:
Jun
is so much better than that. Riddick is putting a lot of pressure on
the young man, and I think Jun can succeed. Imagine if he gets
someone like Scroggs to tap out? Everyone would change their tune
very quickly.
KURASAWA:
In
a preview for the Iron Road qualifiers in Nagoya on November 12th, we
will see an eight-person tag team match: Mallory “The Centerfold”
Northway, Belfast brawler Ronnie Doyle, “The Original Deathmatch
Queen” Trista Capra, and IJPW Dojo student Atsumori Nakadai vs.
Naraku no Soko member Akuma Usami, “The Hardcore Lumberjack” Paul
Cannon, Satomi Asano, and IJPW Dojo student Masuko Matashichi.
O'FLAHERTY:
Ronnie
Doyle is coming off a disappointing run with the World title. I can
see him knocking someone out to make a statement. He knocked out Paul
Cannon in the Death Crown Tournament.
KURASAWA:
Of
course, there's the Iron Road qualifying matches. Nate Narwin pinned
Fujimaro Odaka in an eight-person tag match in Hiroshima. Tonight,
Narwin continues his road to recovery from drugs and alcohol as he
takes on Raul La Escopeta – a man who was trained by Narwin's
former tag team partner, El Loco. We all know how Narwin led Loco
down a path of drugs and alcohol and derailed the career of the
17-time SWA Cruiserweight Champion. Loco pulled himself out of that.
Now Narwin faces one of Loco's former students during his own
recovery. Also, KANNON takes on Australia's Miss Lizzy in his first
singles match since losing to a man he brainwashed into Naraku no
Soko in the Death Crown Tournament. He still hasn't commented on that
other than saying the plan is to bring the World title to Naraku no
Soko.
O'FLAHERTY:
Fleischer
beat Akuma Usami in Death Crown, unlike KANNON. Fleischer then won
the whole thing, and he's the World Champion right now. I can see
Fleischer holding the strap for a long time. I think KANNON beats
Miss Lizzy tonight, but the guy can't even be fucked to put Isamu
Shinagami away himself. He wants go for the World title? Ha! Naraku
no Soko is a good group, but Fleischer doesn't need to dress in black
and wear a mask to scare people.
KURASAWA:
Fujimaro
Odaka takes on former TV Champion Albert Dixon. Dixon, the
notoriously racist ex-cop and former college football offensive
lineman from Arkansas, says he's leaving Japan after tonight's match
– regardless of the result. He'll only come back for the Iron Road
shows at Budokan Hall if he qualifies tonight. The man hates Japan
and he's said some vile shit. But we start tonight with Kayoko Komon
vs. Masaru Maeda in qualifying action. Komon pinned the IJPW Dojo
student last night in a six-person tag team match during the dark
match portion of our Halloween show last night. Maeda is quickly
gaining a reputation as a bad apple and a nasty man. Will he take
that out on Komon tonight? We'll find out!

O'FLAHERTY: Look
at who else is joining the mayhem! John Scroggs!
KURASAWA: Scroggs
is going after Fleischer at ringside! Teiji is fighting through the
crowd with Tsukasa! Riddick and Hageshii are brawling with the World
Tag Team Champions in the entryway! Ricky and Ronnie Doyle are
stomping down on Holt at ringside! This is chaos! We have referees,
security, and dojo students desperately trying to break all of this
up!
O'FLAHERTY: This
is all going to fester before the Nagoya show on the 12th, Yo!
KURASAWA: That
does it for us here tonight. Some people will have to work overtime
in cleaning all this up, but we're done. For Eric O'Flaherty, I'm Yo
Kurasawa. Good night from Osaka!
